Duke

Meet Duke, a 5 - 6 year-old male Boxer with the body of a tank, the energy of a teenager, and the personality of a mystery. He’s a dog for someone who loves a challenge – a puzzle to solve. Duke is affectionate in his own way, but he’ll make you work for his love, and it’s definitely worth the effort.

Duke gets along well with female dogs and would be best suited for a home with older children (12+) who can handle his strength and energy. He’s a powerhouse with a goofy, playful nature. While he loves to play, he does so on his own terms, so a confident and patient handler is key. He’s not cat-tested, and it’s uncertain how he’d react, so a cat-free home might be best for him.

Duke had a stroke recently, but after a vet check-up, it was confirmed that his condition is stable. His head is tilted to the left side, and while the vet is almost certain that this will remain, Duke is eating, walking, and playing like usual. He’s a bit more gentle now and has developed a greater love for cuddling. He’s still a happy and playful dog, despite the changes, and he’s getting better each day.

Duke’s ideal home is one where he can continue to thrive with the care, patience, and leadership he needs to keep growing. He’s not your average dog and doesn’t want an average human. Duke needs someone who understands him and is willing to offer a calm, structured environment where he can feel safe and secure.
